A Vintage-Inspired Tribute to Blues and Jazz

The CD cover design for the Latvian Blues Band's anniversary album is a visual representation of the song title "Music of My Heart." Created in a vintage style with vintage typography, the design exudes a nostalgic charm. The album design showcases a sensitive approach to the topic of music and its connection to life. Technically, the CD album design consists of a classical CD transparent tray inside a printed cover. The cover is divided into two parts that close in the center, ensuring a seamless and cohesive design. Printed in CMYK colors on paper with a matte laminating finish, the cover exudes a timeless elegance. The CD itself features a silk-printed deep black design on the top, adding a touch of luxury to the overall package.

The dimensions of the CD cover are 140mm in width, 6mm in depth, and 125mm in height, providing a compact yet visually striking presentation.

Throughout the design process, Inga Jurane, the art director and designer, immersed herself in the band's music. By listening to each song on the album, she gained a deep understanding of the music and lyrics, allowing her to create a design that truly resonates with the band's artistic vision.

Creating a design that visually represents the intangible vibrations of music was a challenge for Jurane. However, through her creativity and technical expertise, she successfully translated the band's music into tangible forms, capturing the essence of their sound.

The Music of My Heart CD album design project began in December 2015 in Riga, Latvia, and concluded with a presentation concert at the music club MoonshineRiga in March 2016. The design has since garnered recognition and was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the design's outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, showcasing the band's commitment to excellence in art, science, design, and technology.
